Every initiative under Lengau People Society is designed to uplift, educate, and economically empower African communities. From youth bursaries to enterprise support, our programmes reflect real solutions to real needs.

— Monthly Contribution & Lending services

The power of R200 a month.

Our flagship initiative helps members build savings, access financial returns, and support others through structured contribution.

Benefits include:

  • Monthly returns of up to 30% (minus 35% admin fee).
  • Lending Lengau People Society from R1,000 earning 30% returns minus 35% admin fee MONTHLY with options for compounding every 6 months for 24 months or more.
  • Low-interest emergency loan.
  • Annual savings buildup for projects and education.
  • Transparent, community-focused financial stewardship.

— Youth Empowerment & Bursary Programme

We don’t just support youth—we elevate them. Our bursaries, mentorship events, and youth ambassador programme unlock doors to learning, leadership, and opportunity.

Current Focus:

  • High school & tertiary student bursary support.
  • Youth-led cultural events (e.g. Youth Day Commemorations)
  • Digital storytelling and leadership training.

Limpopo Are You Ready?!

We’re helping entrepreneurs formalize and expand township businesses. Qualifying members receive funding, mentorship, and access to community support.

Criteria to qualify:

  • Minimum of 3 months as an active contributor (R200/month)
  • Valid business documents (license, premises, etc.)
  • Photo/video evidence of your shop

— Financial Literacy Campaigns

Knowledge is power—and it’s how we break generational cycles of poverty. Our workshops and campaigns empower members to understand credit, budgeting, lending, and cooperative finance.

Upcoming resources:

  • “Money Matters” digital booklet (coming soon)
  • Provincial workshops with community facilitators.
  • Youth gamified money challenges.

Job Creation:

Preference to employ active members in upcoming malls, warehouses, and developments.

Members involved in local projects benefit first.

Youth Empowerment Programs:

Events like Youth Day Commemorations promote leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.

Talent showcases (music, poetry, performance).

Skills Development:

Training and informal mentorship in savings, business management, customer service (especially for Spaza shop owners).

Monthly or seasonal gatherings to unite members and educate the public.

Support to the Elderly, Widows, and Orphans:

Priority for aid and special recognition for long-serving or vulnerable members.

Funeral Support (via donations):

While not a funeral scheme, the Society donates as a form of solidarity.

What types of businesses does Lengau People Society support?

We support a wide range of township and rural-based businesses including:

  • Spaza shops
  • Chisanyamas
  • Taxis and shuttle services
  • Bottle stores and tarvens
  • Car washes
  • Local farming and retail, etc
  • Warehouses and community malls

You must be:

  1. An active registered member of Lengau People Society
  2. Committed to growing your business or community contribution
  3. Able to submit basic business info or proposal (we can assist)
  4. Willing to be part of our traditional accountability system (we don’t use Western credit scoring)

Loans are provided to active members. We offer:

  • R500 – R90,000 (short-term: 1–3 months)
  • R91,000 – R250,000 (medium-term: 3–12 months)
  • R251,000 – R1,000,000+ (long-term: 12–24 months)

There is a single admin fee and flexible repayment options based on agreement with the Society.

Members may lend money to Lengau People Society (starting from R1,000) and earn:

  • 30% return
  • Minus 35% admin fee
  • Paid monthly, with the option to compound every 6 months
  • This is a traditional African society model — not a bank or formal investment.

We use member contributions to develop:

  • Shopping complexes
  • Warehouses
  • Township service centres
  • Event venues All owned or partly owned by Lengau and its members — keeping money circulating within the community.

Yes. Through our “We Consult” and “We Educate” programmes, we:

  • Offer business advice and mentorship
  • Help new businesses register
  • Guide members on how to grow and formalize their hustle

Bursaries are available to children of active members.
We cover registration fees or offer education loans.
Apply during open bursary rounds with proof of:

  • Student acceptance
  • Active membership
  • Household income (if required)

Yes! In 2024, Lengau People Society expanded to include SADC countries.
We welcome members from:

  • Botswana
  • Lesotho
  • Zimbabwe
  • Mozambique
  • Namibia
    …and beyond — as long as they agree to our terms and values.
